A milestone

Today I am 29 weeks 4 days pregnant. Carter is doing well and I have no signs of preeclampsia. At 29 weeks 4 days, Cara had already passed inside of me. I admitted myself to L&D at 30 weeks 1 day and delivered her at 30 weeks 2 days. When I delivered her they had said she had been gone just a few days prior. So as of today or tomorrow, at this point in pregnancy, a life had ended. Technically by tomorrow this is the most pregnancy I have ever been. Its so bittersweet for me.

Sick sick sick

Iam so tired of being sick! I started to feel off last Saturday. I assumed it was due to my move, and weeks of packing. Sunday I had the flu...fever chills etc. the on call doc gave me tamiflu. Monday My flu symptoms were gone and replaced with sore throat and coughing, as of yesterday I went to my Internal Doc and was given an antibiotic for bronchitious. As of today I began coughing up yellowish brown stuff. (Fun I know)

Today I assumed that since I am on an antibiotic, I won't be contagious and I started getting ready for work. I have been home since Saturday pretty much and I have been lying around since Saturday. I was ready to walk out the door for work when I realized I have not taken my BP. I sat on the couch a few minutes and took my BP. 122/111 heart rate 159. WHAT? I just assumed that my machine was broke or something. I took it again 110/98 heart rate 151. Ok seriously what the hell. My next few reading over 20 minutes remained the same. I called my OB, he believes that it is because I am sick and since I am sick I should be doing nothing except lying around, obviously getting ready for work (showering, doing my hair etc) raised my BP. Being sick in general will raise my already naturally high and even higher in pregnancy heart rate. Fantastic. He did give me the option of coming in, but instead we agreed that I would be seen tomorrow for a BPP and NST! We both agree this is not Preeclampsia...no worries there. My 24 hour urine from this weekend came back NORMAL...Oh how I LOVE those words.

So here I am yet again home another day, lying around, I will do the same tomorrow, and hope to god I can return to work Saturday! #1. I need the money #2. I am bored! My boss was great, and told me just to take care of myself. I also hope I feel better for my shower! It’s Sunday! Yay! Good thing is it is at my mom's so I don’t have to really do much and another good thing is that I am no longer contagious, just sound like a zombie.

I really hate being sick in pregnancy. I know this is different from last time I was sick with Cara because I can still wear my rings and shoes :) My doc said this could linger for weeks. Fabulous. Just how I wanted to carry out the end of my super high-risk pregnancy. On a good note...its not Preeclampsia! So that’s positive at least! I can say I am not a fan of this happening around my 30th week mark. That marks the date in my pregnancy I lost Cara. Good news...Carter I swear is trying to come out of my belly button daily! So I know he is doing well!

**Little update on Pappy...he DOES NOT have a blood clot in his lungs! YAY! He is on the road to recovery! He is still in cardiac ICU, but hopefully soon will be moved down! You can do this Pappy! We want you home and Carter can't wait to meet you!

Pay it forward

I am so grateful for the beautiful card Leanne sent my Pappy. He was so happy to have received it and says he is going to write her back!

Its the small acts of kindness that make the world go round!

Cardiologist

December 20- Well today I had a appointment with my Internist. (Who I love) I was discussing how I notice that my heart rate is a bit high, or seems that way. Well we got 138, 150 and 120 on the EKG. So she sent me over to see my Cardiologist. Many of you know I had a full work up stress test, echo 2d, etc 6 months after Cara was born to make sure everything was golden...which it was! My cardiologist wanted to see me the next day.

December 21- I went in to see my Cardiologist (who I also love) and he ended up prescribing a 48 hour monitor and another Ultrasound of the heart, which I will have done next week. He did make me feel good by stating that racing heart beat and palpitations can be common in pregnancy, however lets rule everything else out. I am TOTALLY fine with that. He knows my whole history with PE and HELLP, and asked "How did the treat your diagnosis your last pregnancy?" I almost laughed...what a joke. I just responded "They didn't" (Of course until everyone realized that I was NOT over reacting...and that my daughter had died) I went on to tell him I have a WHOLE new group of doctors who I love!

December 28- Today I got my heart monitor put on. I am kinda aggravated because the belt they gave me to wear it on SMELLS LIKE SMOKE. I am sorry but I am not a fan of smokers, its gross and lets face it you smell. UGH. Anyways its huge! I don't know how I am going to sleep in it! Wish me luck!

December 30- I finally at 9:40 am was able to take off the monitor!!!! Thank YA LORD! I was itching like crazy! I know it had only been two days but when I ripped those suckers off I had rashes underneath each spot where a sticky thing was. Ugh. I shall be getting my results next week. Am I nervous? No. The old me would already be calling an hour after I dropped it off asking if they had my results. Honestly, you can;t control anything. I have learned also that there is only so much of your "health" that you CAN control. Since this is NOT in my control, I sit back and wait...

January 11- I went last week for my 2D echo, and results are normal! My results from the 48 hour monitor just showed irregular heartbeats, but nothing to be concerned about. I am still having high heart rates and heart palpitations, but im guessing for me...its just another pregnancy symptom!  Yay! I am relieved and hopefully in the next 8 weeks I will not have to go back!
